The Origin Wind Power Project to be constructed in Oklahoma will have a total installed capacity of 150 MW and will be able to generate up to around 650 GWh of power per year.
Construction of the plant requires a total investment of approx. 250 million US dollars.

Enel Green Power S.p.A. (“Enel Green Power”), through its subsidiary Enel Green Power North America, Inc., has begun construction work on the Origin wind power project located in Murray and Carter Counties, Oklahoma (USA).
The new plant, which will have a total installed capacity of 150 MW, will be able to generate up to 650 GWh of electricity per year, therefore avoiding the emission of around 700,000 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere.
The Origin wind farm, owned by Origin Wind Energy LLC, a subsidiary of Enel Green Power North America, Inc., is expected to be completed and to enter service by the end of 2014.
The construction of the plant, in line with the growth targets set by Enel Green Power’s 2013-2017 Business Plan, requires a total investment of approximately 250 million US dollars, financed through the Enel Green Power Group’s own sources.
The project is associated to a 20-year agreement for the purchase of the electricity (PPA) that will be generated by the wind farm. The project holds the necessary requisites to be qualified for production tax credits (PTC), which are fiscal incentives foreseen by US legislation to support renewable energy producers.
The new wind project will add to the 150 MW Rocky Ridge and 235 MW Chisholm View wind farms already operating in Oklahoma.
At present, the total installed wind capacity of EGP in North America exceeds 1,265 MW.

Enel Green Power is the Enel Group company fully dedicated to the development and management of renewable energy sources at the international level, with operations in Europe and the Americas. The company generated more than 25 billion kWh in 2012 from water, sun, wind and the Earth’s heat - enough to meet the energy needs of approx. 10 million households and avoid the emission of over 18 million tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere. Enel Green Power is a world leader in the sector thanks to its well-balanced generation mix, providing generation volumes well over the sector average. The company has an installed capacity of approximately 8,700 MW from a mix of sources including wind, solar, hydroelectric, geothermal, and biomass. Currently, the company has approximately 740 plants operating in 16 countries in Europe and the Americas.
Enel Green Power in USA Enel Green Power (EGP) operates in North America through Enel Green Power North America, Inc. (EGP-NA), which owns and operates over 90 plants in 21 US states and two Canadian provinces with an installed capacity exceeding 1.6 GW as of today. Such a capacity base is diversified across four generation technologies, namely wind, geothermal, solar photovoltaic and hydro.
