Natural Power, the leading renewable energy consultancy, has been appointed by Vattenfall as Ecological Clerk of Works at Clashindarroch Wind Farm in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.
The 18-turbine development will have an installed capacity of 36.9 MW, generating enough electricity to power over 20,000 homes.1
The Scottish-based consultancy’s Ecological Clerk of Works will be onsite to support delivery of Vattenfall’s, and all contractor’s, strong commitment to the environment throughout the project’s operational period.
Natural Power has already carried out a broad range of work on the site, including Resident Engineer and Construction Project Management works, discharge of planning conditions and hydrological monitoring.
Richard Walls, Natural Power’s Director of Ecology and Hydrology, said: “The Ecological Clerk of Works, who is part of Natural Power’s expert Ecology Department, will play a vital role in protecting wildlife species on site by supporting Vattenfall’s commitment to environmentally sensitive construction.”
Ralph Spernagel, the consultancy’s Construction Director, said: “Natural Power’s tried and tested expertise in construction project management will help Vattenfall to complete construction on this development. Bringing more renewable energy to the Aberdeenshire area will help meet the Scottish Government’s targets.”
