CEOs from the wind industry will debate how to get 'back to business' in the current climate at the upcoming EWEA event, and other business leaders such as Google will discuss new opportunities.
Portuguese Energy Minister Moreira da Silva and IEA chief Maria van der Hoeven will speak on the opening day on 10 March. There will be a range of press activities, thirty conference sessions and an exhibition hall with hundreds of companies present.
Press will also be able to see a 116 metre wind turbine up close.
They will have a chance to visit the Serra de Vilobì II wind farm, developed, built and run by ACCIONA Energía. The farm has three 3 MW turbines, providing electricity for 6,000 households. It is situated in the Lleida region.
There will be a guided technical tour of the farm, followed by cocktails and typical food at a local restaurant - and a chance to speak to the many wind industry representatives attending the visit.
Places on the wind farm trip are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. In order to participate, register for EWEA 2014 and then email Sarah Azau sarah.azau@ewea.org with the subject line 'EWEA 2014 wind farm trip'.
