EDF Energies Nouvelles commissions its first solar power plant in central India Located in Madhya Pradesh, the Khilchipur solar power plant (30 MWp1 in installed capacity) represents EDF Energies Nouvelles’ first “green” solar energy facility in the country. EDF Energies Nouvelles, which moved into India in December 2013, has teamed up with two partners, ACME Cleantech Solutions Limited, a well-known Indian new energies company providing the benefit of its local expertise, and EREN, the leading natural resources saving group, to form ACME Solar Energy Private Limited.
Five new photovoltaic projects won in Rajasthan Five solar energy projects, with capacity totalling 120 MWp2 in one of the sunniest states of north-western India, have been awarded to ACME Solar Energy Private Limited following a government call for tenders launched by the Solar Energy Corporation of India. The projects are due to be commissioned during 2015. India boasts tremendous potential for the development of solar energy, with a capacity target of 26.4 GWp3 by 2022.
