An American Non Governmental Organization [NGO] Trusted Angles Foundation has donated nine solar energy power plates to an orphanage home in Buchannan Grand Bassa County.
The Mission for Disable and Unfortunate Children (MODUC) is a home for orphans and disable children who were neglected and abandoned by family members.
The solar power project which is intended to provide electricity to the MODUC orphanage home was initiated by Trusted Angles Foundation Director of Children Service Megan Scott who during her visit in Liberia, January of this year saw the need for light at the home, for orphans to be able to live better life despite their condition.
Back in the United States Scott begin fund raising for the solar power project in which philanthropist like Mike Weir, Glen Meakem and Robert N. Peirce decided to sponsor the project.
"We raised money for the past couple of months with our donors to begin the solar system project", Scott said.
Scott continued:" I came to Liberia for the first time and that was in January and I visited this place [orphanage] and saw the need for the children to have all life can offer."
According to Scott the solar energy power system to the orphanage is phase one of the project adding that in October Trusted Angeles is hoping to do more.
Scott furthered:"This is the first phase of this project and we are doing the second phase in October to give them more power so that they can learn, we hope to have a water tower in the future and Television, I hope it work for them."
The nine solar powers are valued over fifteen thousand United States dollars according to the philanthropist and it was installed by Pickering Energy Solution.
An Orphan at the Home Philip Charles thanked, the sponsors and Trusted Angles Foundation for the solar power project adding that lights will enable them study at night.
