Elecnor has been awarded a contract to build an 83-million-euro ($110.6-million) wind farm in the southern Jordanian city of Maan.
The contract includes engineering, procurement and construction of the 66 MW wind farm, which will be Jordan’s second, Elecnor said in a filing Wednesday with Spanish stock market regulator CNMV.
The wind farm will be made up of 33 2 MW wind turbines supplied by Spanish company Gamesa.
The contract, awarded by Jordan’s Energy Ministry, also covers operation and maintenance of the wind farm for two years and the construction of the control building and access roads.
Funding for the project will come from the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development.
