Gamesa, a global technology leader in wind energy, will present the latest technology developments in its 2.0-2.5 MW platform and the Gamesa WindNet® PRO application, an innovative system for managing wind farms remotely with a view to maximising profitability, at the upcoming WindEnergy trade fair in Hamburg.

WindEnergy Hamburg 2014, one of the most prominent sector trade fairs, will take place between 23 and 26 September in the eponymously named German city.
Gamesa is attending the event with its new wind turbines, the G106-2.5 MW and G114-2.5 MW, which are built using technology proven and validated by the company in its 2.0 MW platform, of which it has installed 17,400 MW in 31 countries worldwide.
The new turbines, designed for high and medium wind speed sites, come with a longer blade (106m and 114m, respectively) and a higher nominal capacity of 2.5 MW in order to maximise efficiency and profitability by reducing the cost of energy in the 2.0-3.0 MW segment. In fact, the G106-2.5 MW and G114-2.5 MW produce 30% more power than the G90-2.0 MW and G97-2.0 MW models, while lowering the cost of energy by 10%.
Next generation of Gamesa WindNet® PRO
The company will also unveil Gamesa WindNet® PRO, an advanced version of its production-optimising wind farm control and monitoring software, at the fair. This tool upgrades Gamesa's existing SCADA system WindNet®, which is operational at 140 wind farms, monitoring capacity of over 4,000 MW.
Thanks to a new interface, this new version, Gamesa WindNet® PRO, will provide users with more intuitive and user-friendly browsing. It comes in three different configurations depending on the size of the wind farm: Gamesa WindNet® PRO Advanced (facilities with more than 25 turbines), Gamesa WindNet® PRO Light (between 5 and 25) and Gamesa WindNet® PRO Ultralight (less than 5). This powerful software is capable of processing the wind farms' operational data for transformation into readily-accessible and valuable information by generating reports and tracking trends in key performance indicators.
The rollout of this highly value added tool reflects Gamesa's quest to reduce the cost of energy by leveraging competitive technological solutions.
