Vestas has received a 15-year agreement to provide its AOM 5000 service package to the Kibby Wind Farm.  Located in Eustis, Maine, Kibby consists of 44 V90-3.0 MW wind turbines, originally installed in 2009. Vestas provided service to the project beginning with its initial operation; this agreement extends Vestas’ commitment to the project through year 20 of its operating life.

The project is owned by TransCanada, a major North American energy company based in Calgary, Alberta, developing and operating energy infrastructure in North America.
Vestas will deliver a comprehensive, full-scope service package.  AOM 5000 is an energy-based availability guarantee that ensures the turbines are operational when the wind is blowing.
“This agreement shows the growing relationship between TransCanada and Vestas.  Our goal is to maintain a relationship with each wind project we supply throughout its full operating life, and we are pleased that TransCanada has given us this opportunity,” says Chris Brown, President of Vestas’ sales and service division in the United States and Canada. “Today’s announcement also illustrates Vestas’ ongoing commitment to the Northeastern US and maritime provinces of Canada, where we have good customers and a critical mass of turbines under service.”
“TransCanada is pleased to be partnering with Vestas in the newly signed 15-year agreement,” says Joe Avery, Director of Energy Operations US Power. “Working together has allowed us to make the Kibby Wind Project a safe generating asset in the community.  We look forward to continuing this partnership with Vestas.”
