ACS said on Monday its Cobra and Lintran divisions had won licenses from the Brazilian government to build and operate nine solar power plants in Sao Paulo, costing a total of 406 million euros ($507 million).
The licenses are part of an alternative energy auction organised by the Brazilian government, it said.
ACS did not say how long the licenses would run but said construction of the plants would begin in the fourth quarter of 2015, with the installations due to come on stream 16 months later.
The company said the contract involves the sale of energy at 218.37 reais per MWh, above the average 215 reais/Mwh for other licenses.
