Chiyoda and ASE celebrate the inauguration of Molten-Salt Parabolic Trough - Concentrated Solar Power (MSPT-CSP) demonstration plan.
The demonstration plant will introduce a new CSP system which was brought together by Italian manufacturing technology of collector tube and Japanese engineering expertise and will be the launch platform for the two companies' R&D activities for further innovation.
The new system incorporating molten salt will improve the efficiency of electricity generation. Molten salt is adopted both as a heat transfer fluid and as a heat-storage medium which allows an operating temperature of up to 550 degree Celsius.
Chiyoda and ASE aim to establish an economically and technologically optimized system through the demonstration to achieve a stable supply of "Green Electricity", which will even be available during the hours of darkness.
