EDF Energies Nouvelles has commissioned the 24 MW Basse Thiérache Sud wind farm in the French region of Picardy.
The wind power project, in the Aisne department, uses eight 3 MW Siemens wind turbines and is owned by EDF Energies Nouvelles and Diamond Generating Europe, a subsidiary of Japan's Mitsubishi Corporation.
During 2014 EDF has added 160MW of capacity in France and now operates a total of 934MW of wind farms across the country, it said.
The Basse Thiérache Sud wind farm will produce the equivalent of the annual electricity consumption of over 21,000 local inhabitants and created during the construction process 25 local jobs.
