The two plants, Berceni 1 and Berceni 2, are located in Prahova county and have a combined installed capacity of around 19 MW. The operating plants will be able to generate up to an approximate 29 million kWh per year.
The Berceni 1 plant has an installed capacity of around 10 MW. The operating facility is able to produce around 15 million kWh per year, corresponding to the annual energy needs of more than 7,500 households, thereby avoiding the emission of over 6,800 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere per year.
The Berceni 2 plant has an installed capacity of around 9 MW. The operating facility is able to produce more than 14 million kWh per year, corresponding to the energy needs of more than 6,500 households, thereby avoiding the emission of over 6,500 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere per year.
Berceni 1 and Berceni 2 are the first photovoltaic plants of Enel Green Power in Romania, a Country in which the Enel Group company has an installed capacity of 498 MW from wind power.
Enel Green Power is the Enel Group company fully dedicated to the development and management of renewable energy sources at the international level, with operations in Europe and the Americas. The company generated more than 25 billion kWh in 2012 from water, sun, wind and the Earth’s heat - enough to meet the energy needs of approximately 10 million households and avoid the emission of over 18 million tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere. Enel Green Power is a world leader in the sector thanks to its well-balanced generation mix, providing generation volumes well over the sector average. The Company has an installed capacity of more than 8,000 MW from a mix of sources including wind, solar, hydroelectric, geothermal, and biomass.
