With this operation, TSK is positioned in a privileged way to compete in the Middle East, where there is strong commitment to develop concentrating solar thermal power (CSP).

TSK has reached an agreement with the German company Flagsol to acquire its activities and technology in the solar thermal sector. The German company , based in Cologne, is one of the pioneers in the development of engineering of concentrated solar thermal power (CSP) technologies.
With this operation, the Spanish company strengthens its global leadership in the solar thermal field, where Flagsol is a pioneer in the design and construction of Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) plants, thanks to what had become a benchmark within the sector.
Projects implemented by the German firm, together with the TSK has done, and the two Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) plants currently under construction in Morocco and South Africa of 160 MW and 50 MW, respectively, make the Asturian company a world leader in this type of technology .
With this acquisition, Flagsol TSK, which is the new name of the company, is positioned in a privileged way to compete in solar thermal plans announced in Middle Eastern countries like Saudi Arabia, where it plans to build 30,000 MW by 2030, or Kuwait , Morocco, Oman, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, among others. In all these countries are betting decisively by solar thermal energy.
This is not the first German company that incorporates TSK since PHB Weserhütte acquired in 1995, signing with its own technology in the design and provision of facilities for handling minerals and is today one of the most internationally recognized companies in this sector .
Flagsol executed the first hybrid solar thermal world that combines solar energy with a combined cycle gas. The CSP Kuraymat in Egypt has a total capacity of 150 megawatts, and the hybrid power plant supplies electricity 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This was the first installation made in Egypt and notes that more and more countries outside Europe opting for sustainable energy production .
Thanks to high levels of radiation, the MENA region (Mediterranean and North Africa) is suitable for solar thermal power plants and is currently clearly becoming an area of great potential for this technology.
TSK continues its growth and evidence of this is provided to increase the facilities currently in the Science and Technology Park of Gijón , where a new building annexed to the present , which will mean 200 more jobs will open in January, which will be added to the current 350.
