In the USA, Gamesa will supply 95 G114-2.0 MW wind turbines to EDPR for the Waverly wind farm in Kansas. Gamesa will also install 50 G97-2.0 MW wind turbines at a wind farm located in central Mexico.

Gamesa, a global technology leader in the wind energy industry, has signed two firm orders to supply 290 MW in North America: 100 MW in Mexico and 190 MW in the United States.
In United States, Gamesa has reached an agreement with EDP Renováveis (EDPR) for the supply of 95 Gamesa's G114-2.0 MW turbines to the Waverly wind farm in Coffey County, Kansas. The project is part of the framework agreement reached between both companies for the supply of up to 450 MW in the U.S. through 2016.
The turbines are slated for delivery in the third quarter of 2015 and the project is expected to be fully commissioned by the end of the year. These 95 turbines will incorporate Gamesa's MaxPower package of hardware and software modifications that boost the power output of the turbines from 2.0 MW up to 2.1 MW.
This agreement with EDPR -to whom Gamesa has delivered wind turbines totaling close to 1,400 MW- represents the largest contract for Gamesa's G114-2.0 MW turbines to date. The company now has contracts and framework agreements for this model covering more than 550 MW.
Gamesa has a solid presence in the United States, where it has installed close to 4,000 MW and currently services 1,400 MW.
Gamesa: Mexico's market leader
In Mexico, Gamesa has signed a new contract for the supply of 100 MW of its turbines to a big utility. With this agreement, the company demonstrates its leadership in the country, where it is the largest wind turbine manufacturer, having garnered a market share of over 73%, according to the most recent wind report by BTM Consult.
Under the terms of the contract -signed in 2Q 2014-, Gamesa will supply and install 50 G97-2.0 MW turbines at a wind farm located in central Mexico. The wind turbines are scheduled for delivery during the first quarter of 2015 and the wind farm is expected to be commissioned during the last.
Gamesa has a significant presence in Latin America and particularly in Mexico, where the company has installed 1,067 MW and services 873 MW. In that market, Gamesa also is engaged in the development and sale of wind farms. As a wind power developer, Gamesa has developed, built and commissioned close to 250 MW in Mexico and it is building another 70 MW.
